We came, we sore, we conquered Hadrian’s Wall!

We set off from Wallsend on 17th June 2012, a drizzly Sunday morning. We were so excited and up to the challenge of walking 84 miles in six days. Our inspiration was the knowledge that with the support of many like minded people, our efforts would go towards The Intsika Trust’s mission providing assistance to those affected by Aids & HIV.

The British weather did not disappoint us, we got sunburnt, soaking wet and nearly swept off our feet by the very powerful unexpected wind. The scenery on Hadrian’s Wall walk is beautiful and even when it rained so hard and my digital camera drowned, it did not detract from how remarkable the walk is.

We very happily finished the walk on the 22nd June 2012 ending in a very windy Bowness-on-Solway. Our feet were sore, but that did not matter as we had raised £820 for a very good cause.

A very big thank you to everyone who sponsored us. And also to everyone who sent us supportive messages as we walked and walked and walked…
