The weather gods were smiling on us and the 3rd Intsika Trust Brill Hilly 10k enjoyed warm dry weather with some head wind that did make Tram Hill that much more challenging.
We had 178 finishers, the biggest field since the race started in 2011 and this year we were joined by Maggie Thatcher! Ben Snell won a well deserved fancy dress prize for his tribute to Maggie with a hint of Paul O’Grady. We were all inspired by Louise Simpson’s time of 63:27, Louise is blind and was guided around the course by her guide runner Stephen Thurkettle.
Charlie May of Aylesbury Vale Athletics Club won the race for the third time, although this year he did not break the course record of 34:32 he set in 2012.
Kay Walsha won the woman’s race, came 10th overall and set a fabulous new course record of 40:16, almost a minute faster than the previous one held by Mary Spalton, a fantastic result for Kay.

The 1k Fun Run was won by Tom Gould of Bicester Athletics Club and the Dash by William Pringle.
Congratulations to all the runners and thanks to our sponsors, Lodge Garage and our all our supporters, volunteers, marshalls and the village of Brill without whom the race would not be possible.
